The Dog, The Wolf, and The Elf

Tovarel and Hinin were journeying back across the Silver Wood forest after their defeat in the dark caves where they found their enemy the black dragon waiting for Tovarel, whom had be severly cursed. The day was going smoothly when they were suddenly ambushed by a large ogre like creature who swung violently with a large wooden club. But before being able to fight back, they were rescued. The first to appear was a large dog with black and brown furs splotched on his body, his most distinguished feature being a scar on the right side of his face from under the jaw to stop at his cheek bone. His fangs tore at the creature and when he was about to make another swing towards Hinin, a flash of purple hair knocked the elf aside. She was tall and hooded with foreign clothing and her features were quite phenomenal. Her hood would be thrown back later in the fight to reveal a young elf girl about the age of a young adult.

When the battle was over, the dog burst into a cloak of insane white aura and returned to a hybrid form of a male about the same age as the elf and had ears, tail, and the feet of a dog. The scar remained and he was also robed in foreign clothes. They spoke with each other and then eyed a large wolf spirit slightly smaller than the dog form of the boy. The she-wolf was black and silver with a teasing tone, motherly towards the two.

During the walk, Hinin had pulled his old cloak back on. He didn't want passer-byers His eyes flourished at the sight in front of him. When the creature attacked, surprise took him. He had heard the beast and felt his presence but nothing compared to it's size. He instantly had jolted backwards, defending. He then caught sight of the amazing feat before him. He didn't recognize any of the people before him but they were obviously elf. "Who are you, travelers?" He nudged his chin with his thumb and his fore finger. "You did excellently. " Hinin had already put his hood up, hiding his appearance. He hoped that his identity was kept hidden but he wasn't sure how fast their reflexes were.

Tovarel blinked at the spectacle, specifically interested in how the boy was able to shapeshift so easily. The male then stepped forward with a sheepish grin and the ears on his head twitched with curiosity of surrounding sounds, "I'm Fallen, this woman here," He motioned to the purple haired elf, "Is Lorana, my mate. And the she-wolf is called, Sora." He glanced at her with an anxious expression, "She is somewhat the mother of our little family..." Sora grumbled with amusement. He glanced to Tovarel and observed the odd anomalies that were preset in his form, "You...you wouldent...no..." He rubbed his chin, "I suppose you are a simple hybrid...more common in my homeland but I suppose it is odd here. And a dragon no less..." He blinked and suddenly grew curious, "You wouldn't have any relation to the dragons whom own this land...would you?" Tovarel nodded.

Hinin continued to sit back and watch, patient and quiet. He simply listened, smiling that no one seemed to both take notice or even care. He was happy simply staying out of the spot light. Being with someone who took up the entire spotlight, this was easy. HE sighed, happily and slightly bored. As he did this a gust of wind blew and his hood was pushed back. Before Hinin could catch it, the rope that tied his cloak to his neck now came untied and flew off, landing on a tree behind him. He turned now, trying to grab it before anyone took notice of his odd features.

Hinin's attempts were in vain as Lorana caught a glimps of that which was held like a beacon over her kinsman. Before he could even flinch, the scar covered elf was at his face with horror and hope gleaming in her eyes. "I new other elves existed aside from me but I never believed I would meet one!" She showed her affection with a surprisingly strong hug as Fallen motioned to her with his thumb, "Well look at that, seems that your friend is something rare as well? Hell...she and her sister are the last of the elves in our country." He leaned in to whisper, "Her sister killed everyone but her...me and my Master arrived just in time to save her..." He smiled and with a roar, "And she's a princess no doubt! An' I get to bang her!" A large stick came from do where and broke against the side of his face sending him back about a hard, the elf then yelled, "Well don't just blurt out that kind of information to strangers!" Sora strolled next to Lorana, "No worries dear, I'll punish him later." Fallen's ears went flat to her words, "Shit...that'll be Hell."

Hinin smiled, thinking back when he was in fear he was the last elf. "There are others like me. I could show you the way if you like. I too am an orphan. " When the male was whacked, Hinin let out a loud chuckle. He had never seen such nonsense between friends. "You three act strange for a family. It is nice. Pleasing even. "

"Yeah...family." Fallen chuckled and stood up. "When I was around five...I ran from my erm...father. I met a strange hybrid named Sen, who adopted me as such..." He tapped his scar, "He trained me until I was about eight and decided I should meet an old wise elf of the tribe near the castle we lived in, that is where...we found her. We grew up together and eventually fell in love, and as a dog I find it is my RIGHT to be proud of my mate!" Lorana threw another stick which he promptly ducked and chuckled only to be cut off as a second stick was thrown into his face. "Gah! Enough with the throwing!" The girls laughed as Tovarel studied him thinking they were somewhat alike yet completely different.

He smiled. "So now that we are acquainted to some extent, where are you folks headed?" He slid the cloak back onto his shoulders but left the hood down this time. He saw no reason to hide from them any more.

Lorana looked to Fallen who had crossed his arms and spoke softly, "Hunting..." Tovarel blinked and glanced between them as Lorana stepped up to finish, "Some very powerful demons have come to this country and we are to kill them. Fallen also wanted to document the culture here, seeing as Sen did not observe it much..." The she-wolf strolled through, "As if he needed to fill his castle with more books...he has over five-hundred years worth of text from his life...he should give it a break." Fallen smirked, "I read most of em'." Sora huffed, "Shush child..." Fallen obayed with little hesitation.

Hinin smiled. He was happy to have a solid lead on any demons in the area. He was used to killing demons. He was also used to kill humans, orcs, and the special occasion of kings. "So. Um. Lorana was it? what did you do for a living?" He was only curious because being an orphan himself, he wanted to see if she had taken the dark path as he had.

The slender woman stared at him blankly, "When my clan was whole...I was about eight...the most I had learned was our culture and a dab of sword play that Sen helped me progress with. Other than that I've just been living in the castle either hunting, cooking, sleeping, training and occasionally we would explore other places." She glanced to Fallen whom was explaining the difficulty in living with the legs of a dog for some profound reason, "Fallen has an odd wish to save the human race, so he would usually drag us from the forest to investigate them. We made quite a few friends and he always managed to get us in some sort of trouble..." She smiled and crossed her arms, "And what of you or the other elves? My clan migrated from our home country sometime before the Demon March and after the humans had arrived."

He sighed, looking down. "To be honest it was only a short time ago for me to have even met the elves. When I was born, my parents were attacked by a assassin raid. The elves were perfectly equipped with defense but not all of the elves were awake. While my parents slept, an assassin snuck in and stabbed them in the heart. When the assassin looked to me, they must have seen an opportunity so I was taken and raised with the assassins, being told that I was the only being of my kind on earth and that I was more of an abomination than an elf. Needless to say, I was raised to kill things. In my lifetime, I have killed almost one of every species well that is until I met you all today. " He now leaned against a tree and continued. "The group leader was murdered by a assassin in the night and the group disbanded. I became a man for hire. Not long later met him" He pointed at Tovarel. " And in turn, I was met by an elf. For roughly a month and a half I was trained and raised as an elf. The rest is history."

Lorana nodded as his story had saddened her even if she wouldn't allow it to show. Fallen snapped his fingers, "Oh yeah...I will need to meet the dragons and return something to them." Tovarel blinked and starred with an odd humming sound that made Sora tilt her head, "What is it?" Fallen smirked, "The land that most humans know as Hell. My master killed the dark angel who kept souls there and it is now vacant. According to him...those fiery plains belong to the dragon race." Tovarel nodded, he had heard he stories but was scepticle...until now. "Yeah...we can do that..."

He was slightly shocked but even less surprised. He had heard all of the rumors about dragons and all the legends about them as well. It wasn't much of a surprise to learn they were true. He smiled. "So shall we then?"

Tovarel nodded and blinked, "I suppose there is no need to conceal my true appearance." With this said he then went into a quick transformation with suppressed screams and ruffled his scales when the change was complete, he is slightly bigger now...

Fallen clasped his hands as the dragon hummed, "Marvelous! A true dragon indeed!" Lorana shook her head with a casual expression. "Thats my Fallen..." Sora then broke between the two, "Shouldnt we be off to the land of theirs now?" They all nodded with agree ment and Tovarel started to lead the group, he observed the two elves the majority of the way, Fallen was irrelevant of the situation.

Hinin walked in silence, feeling very confused by the group. His warrior days were over but yet he couldn't shake the feeling that he missed being an assassin. It was the only thing that seemed normal and yet he hadn't done a job in a while. he figured that this was the famous path of light that everyone talked about and most followed. Family was all around him and yet he had never had anything like it. The most he had ever had was Tovarel and that wasn't for very long either. He distracted himself with a aura conjure of a small rabbit dancing around a deer who leaped around the group as they walked. They aura was a teal-ish color. He enjoyed watching his summons. They always put his mind at ease.

While Hinin was amusing himself with aura he might eventually notice that Fallen and staggered beside him with curiosity and watch the play of aura control. His ears would twitch.

Sora continued walking beside Tovarel seeing as she apparently tool a liking to the inhuman creature.

Then Lorana was on the other side of Hinin Watching the aura as well, occasionally glancing at his ears, as if trying to assure they were really there.

Hinin took notice of their examinations as he played. "As an elf, you learn to control your aura perfectly but the Elvin race are quite peaceful so you learn the nice things first. " He smiled and made the rabbit hop onto the deer's head. "I see this as fun and amusing. "

Lorana chuckled, "Cute...you think we don't know about aura?" Fallen laughed and started reciting aura facts including one in particular that caught Tovarel's attention, "--and originally the word aura came from the dragons, when their language is translated they call it Soul Fire. Which is interesting since that is in fact where it comes from." Tovarel but in and turned his head, "How do you know that? I thought it was a lost fact of history..." Fallen laughed, "My mentor is as old as most of the dragons that currently exist. He is over five hundred years old and has had many adventures." Tovarel turned back and contemplated the speach and then him and Fallen started speaking of ways to shapeshift in using Aura, which Tovarel was processing very carefully.

He knew he had successfully dropped back out of the spot light. He was happy enough about this. He let the aura conjures fade and he continued to walk silently, keeping an eye on everything.

Fallen randomly shouted again, "Let's race!" He held his arms out and then swiped them inwards as if he were holding a round object. After tue motion was complete he was engulfed an insanely bright white aura that gored rough the air like a raging fire. A loud roar soon follow as the large dog creature bounced out with similar enthusiasm that matched his personality as a hybrid. He quickly bolted foreword at a speed that sent the earth flying back and would barely process to normal humans. Tovarel roared in his native tongue and chased after the dog with the flap of his enormous wings. They were soon out of sight.

Lorana chuckled and punched Hinin on the arm with a giggle she took off in the same direction with similar speed of insane power.

Sora shook her head and glanced at the remaining elf, "We should run before we lose them." She ran as well.

He nodded, feeling almost happy, excited even that he could use his speed finally. He charged his aura in his feet and took off as fast as he could. He caught up quickly, loving the feeling of the wind in his hair, the air pushing through his body. Hinin smiled as he quickly dodged each tree and stump. His feet moved faster than any human could possibly comprehend. If a human was watching this scene right now, Hinin figured that he or she would obviously not be able to see any of them. They may even appear as a quick flash. He looked down at his feet and smiled. Coming from his heels was blue and green aura pulsing from the very fibers of his soul. He felt amazing. "Glad to know that I am not the only one who can do this freely. "

Lorana glanced at him, "You'd be surprised that this was a normal thing for us. Our mentor is Demon God so our childhoods were surrounded by mystery and such oddities. Fallen got the best of it though...he is a god himself you know." She smiled at the thought.

Fallen almost ran into a tree but stretched his jaw in time to bite the object in half and bound over the forest like a massive demon frolicking in a meadow. Tovarel dived at him from time to time for the rush of the fall and would swoop back up at the last moment.

He thought on it for a second. "Interesting. " HE hadn't ever considered gods real. He was skeptical of the thought of this boy being a god or even a demonic mentor but people thought elves were myths at one time. He smiled now. "I suppose I could believe this in time. I'd need proof though." He nodded at the confirmation in his head.

Lorana nodded, "Fallen chooses not to use his true power often for it is evil...but Sen...Sen can do anything..." She shivered for a moment before pushing tue displeasure aside.

Tovarel suddenly flew over the mountain as it seemed they were now in the land of dragons. Fallen climbed the wall of rock in a pattern of jumps and eventually slid down to the warm surface of rock on the other side, greeted by the wild eyes of the dragons. Sora and Lorana climbed up as well.
