Tovarel, The Dragon Child

Hinin had taken off at the first nod of his dragon friend. He had decided to run in a direction of a bird he heard two hundred feet away. Hinin ran as fast as he could. He pushed himself until he realized he was easily moving faster than any deer could run. He was running faster than any wolf he had ever seen. He was going about the speed of four horses combined. He looked down for half a second, realizing that any human watching would merely see a blur. His feet were moving at incredible speeds. He ran for about three hours before he thought it best to see if the village down the mountain was awake or if anyone was awake in the village. He aimed his direction of the village. He got there in ten minutes. All of the lights were out except for the inn that he had stayed at until he met the Knights of the hood. He decided to stop in and say hello to his old friend, John the inn keeper. He walked through the doors and John sat there reading his books as he alwasy had. Hinin walked to the bar and sat down. "Hello John. Remember me?" He said this and John nearly jumped off of his seat. The man was a old man with no hair on top but a ring of wrinkled white hair around the rim of his head. He was tubby in the waist and he wore a white apron and a brown tunic under that.

"It has been a long time Hinin. You look very...." He stopped, almost laughing. "Different. Definitely different. " They both laughed.

"I found the elves my friend. They made me full elf. "

Tovarel woke up a few hours after his ordeal, his wounds had closed but not healed, and they would obviously scar which saddened him. He looked to his master who was looking over him and asked, "Is there any way you can remove these wounds? I don't want to scar...I like the way my skin looks..." He whined, laying on his side, the pain leaving him with little movement. His mentor nodded and said once the wounds healed on their own, he could remove the scars and help his scales reform, this made him slightly happier but still had a sense of sorrow in his gut. He tried to stand once but the elder forced him down, holding him and scolding him. He wasn't allowed to move for a while. He whimpered at this but obeyed.

He returned thirty minutes after that. He had explained everything to John and returned with breakfast. He had bagged enough to feed six dragons plus himself. He walked in and saw Tovarel in pain and hurt. "What happened?! "

Tovarel groaned a bit due to not wanting to recap the recent event, so the Elder took Hinin into the larger center chamber and explained everything that had transpired, sorrow filling his lungs. After explaining it, he allowed Hinin to return and requested that he might use his smaller form to patch up the wounds with more accuracy. After this he departed. Tovarel laid on his side and cringed as he exhaled in a big huff.

Hinin went back to Tovarel's room, sitting beside him. "You ok? I got food for ya if you want to eat." He Set the bag down beside him and sighed. "I guess I will be a guard tonight rather than running off. Sorry this happened. "

He didn't say much for he didnt feel like talking. His pride hurt as well as his chest when his throat vibrated from speech. He only indicated desires as such; he would eye the food and sniff at it. He licked his lips and his primal instincts started to kick in. He attempted to get up again but roared in pain when he stretched the various wounds. He fell back down and growled low and miserably. Clawing at the cold stone by him.

He just sat there with his friend. Trying to make him comfortable but he really didn't know how to make a dragon comfortable so he just sat there.

He whined a bit and then inched his way closer to the food and pulled it to himself. He held it infront of him and started to skin it with his claws, after that he de-boned it and tossed the organs and such aside with the bones and pelt. He then took the soft lumps of meat and used his flame to make red hot stone by him where he dropped the meat to cook it.

He smiled at this. "Looks like nothing will keep you down for long. " He chuckled.

He ignored the comment and continued to stare at the meat as it cook. It took a few minuets before it happen but he suddenly spoke, "Why did this happen to me...I mean...I like it and all but I've lost humanity. I no longer have the form I was born with. I'm the size of a big horse but with scales..." He grumbled a bit and arched his neck to examine his wounds and cringed at the sight. "Damn him...damn all these dragons." He suddenly fel guilty for saying it, he new very well he was fond of his adopted family.

He sighed, feeling a new dread for his friend. He hadn't been given the option to become a dragon. He was forced. Hinin was forced to changed as well but at least he still looked humanoid. Tovarel was almost a giant flying lizard. "Maybe we could find a cure or something? I am sure there is a way to turn you back."

"The others speak of magic that we dragons have...but they say I'm too young to learn right now." He sighed. "Maybe they would know shomething."

He grinned. "Or the elves might have some information. You wouldn't be allowed into the village but They are very very knowledgeable of magic and transformation. Did you know they have a spell that makes it possible to actually fly without wings? " He grinned and laughed.

He shook his head a bit. "Did not know that. Although my family here most likely have a way. If there is possiblity, they know of it." He groaned a bit as he moved slightly. "Once I heal, I will find out"

He nodded smiling, still feeling bad. "Well hopefully you heal fast then, my friend. "

He sniffed the meat and clawed at it, taking large chunks between his powerful jaw and eating. He enjoyed the taste but quickly started getting irritated by his wounds and the pressure of his predicament. Suddenly, he lashing out and clawed at the ground while roaring as loud as possible and shooting a jet of flames that started scorching the rock wall before him.

He grinned, knowing he might be of some help. "I can help with the pain if you want. I learned a spell while training with my people. " He held out his hands over one of the wounds, speaking a incantation in elvish. His hands started to glow in a light blue aura flowing around his hands and around the wound. The pain would slowly go away but then reseed all together for that wound. "Hows that?"

He nearly passed ot when the pain ended and he laid his head back down, sighing in relief. "I wonder wha makes me so special..." He pondered his thoughts. "Out of so many humans, why I the only one...?" It honestly made him feel important, causing a smile to creak open on his jaw.

He grinned, remembering some of the teachings of his teacher. "As the elven village elder once told me, there is a plan for every living thing on earth. We have but to wait for it to reveal itself. " He now chuckled, feeling poetic saying it. "I know it sounds like a fairy tale but I believe it. "

"I suppose I must believe it. However, I will be damned if I help that demon destroy the Velshkin..." He growled a bit.

He smiled. "And I will be there to help you fight him off. " He patted him on the back.

He nodded a bit and felt a bit better knowing he had a friend by his side who would fight with him as he would do the same in return for his little Elvish friend. The dragon staggered to his feet with a soft humming of his throat. He could feel his wounds re-opening and he hurried to his pit as to avoid standing when the Elvish magic wore off. Laying down in the warm crater came to a relief, although he wished to ask for more help diverting the pain but he didn't want to ask for help. He laid his head down and tried to sleep.

He sighed, not being able to help him more. "I am truly sorry my friend. I can do the spell until I am out of energy if you wish." He didn't want to just force the spell on him. He waited.

He nodded slightly and sighed with a low humming sound.

Hinin smiled and nodded. For the next four hours, he worked. He kept the spell going as long as he could. Felt himself being pushed to the limit but he knew if he stopped, a few seconds later, the spell would stop. He felt himself sweat. He remembered sweating when he was training. HE smiled, knowing this was why he was born. He then felt himself give out. He fainted. It was the first time in months he had slept. When he woke, it was ten minutes later. He woke, trying to complete the spell but he was still out of energy. He needed more food. "Is the pain back my friend?"
